Most No. 1 Seeds Entering Postseason in MILL/NLL History

Let's call it the Presidents' Trophy, NLL style.

The NHL gives that award to the team for the best record in the regular season. What does that look like in the history of the National Lacrosse League (and before that, the Major Indoor Lacrosse League)?

The Buffalo Bandits are the champions in the category, with 10 first-place overall finishes. Here's the breakdown:

No. - Team - Years

10 -  Buffalo Bandits - 1993 1994, 1996, 2006, 2008, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2025

7 - Toronto Rock - 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2013, 2015, 2024

4 - Philadelphia Wings - 1989, 1995, 1997, 1998

3 - Calgary Roughnecks - 2009, 2011, 2012

2 - Detroit Turbos - 1991, 1992

2 - Rochester Knighthawks - 2003, 2007

2 - Edmonton/Saskatchewan Rush - 2014, 2018

1 - New England Blazers - 1990

1 - Albany Attack - 2002

1 - Colorado Mammoth - 2004

1 - Washington Stealth - 2010

1 - George Swarm - 2017

The logical next step is ... how many of those teams won the overall championship? It's a little less than half (17 out of 35, as the '25 Bandits put the number above .500)

5 - Buffalo Bandits - 1993, 1996, 2008, 2023, 2025

3 - Philadelphia Wings - 1989, 1995, 1998

3 - Toronto Rock - 1999, 2000, 2005

1 - Detroit Turbos - 1991

1 - Rochester Knighthawks - 2007

1 - Calgary Roughnecks - 2009

1 - Washington Stealth - 2010

1 - Georgia Swarm - 2017

1 - Saskatchewan Rush - 2018

(2020 and 2021 seasons were not completed/held).
